common questions

how long does driving school take to complete?

Zeta Driving School offers multiple schedule options to fit your needs. Full-time students typically complete the program in about four weeks.

will i get a driving job right out of school?

We have developed hiring partnerships with hundreds of the most respected trucking companies throughout the country. During your time in school you will meet with recruiters to learn about different career options. Most of our students line up job offers before they graduate. Check out our Career Services page to learn more.

How much is tuition and other costs to attend?

Our priority is helping our students. We have the most competitive tuition rate in the country. The vast majority of students will qualify for significant financial aid and grants and pay nothing out of pocket.

Do you offer financial aid or scholarships?

Yes. Zeta Driving School offers multiple forms of financial aid, tuition-assistance programs and grants for CDL training. Most students qualify for funding that covers part or all of their tuition. We work with several major assistance programs, including WIOA CDL Training Grants, Great Jobs KC, KansasWorks, KC Scholars, Fast Track and Vocational Rehabilitation. Many students receive full scholarships and can attend CDL training at no cost.

Can i attend as a part time driving student?

Yes! We know our students have busy lives and can’t always attend driving school full time. That’s why we offer multiple schedule options—including day, night, and weekend training—so you can complete both the classroom and behind-the-wheel requirements at a pace that fits your needs and qualify for your CDL.

is zeta an FMCSA-approved cDL driving school?

Yes, Zeta Driving School is an approved commercial driving school in Kansas and registered as an approved Training Provider with the FMCSA.

What are the steps of CDL Training?

Our CDL training program is structured in clear, supportive phases to take you from beginner to licensed professional-step by step.

Phase 1: Orientation & Permit Prep. Kick things off with a focused week dedicated to CDL permit preparation. Whether you’re brand new or already have your permit, you’ll have the support you need. If you already hold your permit, you move forward without delay. Otherwise, our instructors guide you through the knowledge requirements, study strategies, and permit exam essentials-all without cutting into your future hands-on training time.

Phase 2: Classroom Learning. Once you’re set with your permit, you’ll dive into classroom coursework. Here you’ll cover everything from federal regulations and safe driving techniques to hours-of-service rules and logbook management. We draw on industry standards-including guidelines from organizations like the FMCSA-to ensure you’re getting reliable, up-to-date information.

Phase 3: Hands-On Skills Training. With your foundation built, you’ll head to the yard and behind the wheel. This phase includes guided instruction in vehicle walkthroughs, pre-trip inspections, basic control maneuvers, and practice drives in a variety of traffic and weather conditions (with a boost from our full-scale driving simulator).

Phase 4: Road Experience & Exam Prep. Your final stage is dedicated to real-world road driving, mock testing, and final exam practice. Our team prepares you for everything the CDL skills test covers, so you’re ready for the big day. Every step is designed to build your knowledge, confidence, and readiness for a successful CDL career-and with our flexible schedules and financial aid options, you’ll find a path that fits your goals.
